About Spooks in the City: Day of the Dead
Inspired by El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Spooks in the City returns to St David's Place in Swansea for a free and colourful, family-friendly Halloween celebration.
Join in the fun on Saturday 31 October (1pm - 6pm) with traditional live music, dance performances, face painting, craft activities and entertainment from walkabout characters and mariachi bands. Stilt walkers, illuminated costumes and larger-than-life characters will take to the streets, alongside high-energy circus acts ready to dazzle the crowds with their skills.
Get involved with shadow puppet and sugar skull decorating workshops, or have a go at circus skills including juggling, diablo and stilt walking. A programme of performances throughout the day includes traditional Latin American dance exploring the history and cultural significance of Día de los Muertos.
Look out too for the spectacular Caravan of Lost Souls, featuring acrobats, fire performers and circus artists.
Through music, dance, creativity and live entertainment, Spooks in the City offers a colourful introduction to the traditions of Día de los Muertos, with plenty of Halloween fun along the way.
