Taffy Dakar is a unique adventure motorcycling and navigation weekend held in the spectacular landscape of South Wales, attracting over 250 riders and visitors from across the UK and beyond, annually.
The main Saturday event is a motorcycle orienteering challenge for adventure and trail motorcycles. Riders are given a series of waypoints and must plan and navigate their own routes between them, using a combination of public roads and legal green roads. There is no prescribed route and the emphasis is on navigation, teamwork, exploration and responsible riding rather than speed or racing.
The wider weekend has a relaxed festival atmosphere at the event base, with camping, food and refreshments, live music and entertainment, motorcycle and adventure-travel exhibitors, guest speakers and opportunities for riders to meet and socialize.
Sunday includes further motorcycle activities and guided rides, alongside talks and presentations from experienced adventure riders, travellers and figures from the motorcycling community.
Taffy Dakar is organised as a Community Interest Company and has a strong community ethos, supporting local and Welsh good causes. The event encourages participants to spend several days in the area, bringing visitors into South Wales and showcasing the region's landscape as a destination for responsible motorcycle and adventure tourism.
