About Taff Trail - Cardiff to Brecon

The Taff Trail is a 55mile/93km way-marked route for walkers and cyclists running from Cardiff to the Brecon Beacons National Park.

In Cardiff, the Taff Trail extends 8 miles, from Cardiff Bay's Waterfront, via the City Centre, through parks and green spaces, to Tongwynlais. Many of Cardiff's premier attractions including Cardiff Castle, Castell Coch, Llandaff Cathedral, the Millennium Stadium and the Millennium Centre are located in the Taff Corridor.

Cardiff Council has a Taff Trail Circular Walks pack providing information on 6 circular walks within the Taff Corridor. For details contact email parks@cardiff.gov.uk or telephone 029 2068 4000.
Largely traffic-free, the 55 mile trail passes through a variety of landscapes north of Cardiff and there are many sites of interest and industrial heritage either adjacent or close to it. Although essentially a countryside trail, it does pass through a number of towns and villages providing facilities for refreshment, accommodation, shopping, etc.

Most of the route follows easy gradients with the occasional steeper section and is suitable for all ages and abilities, as you can do as little or as much as you want in one go. The Taff Trail is part of Lon Las Cymru Cycle Route running between Cardiff and Holyhead as Route 8 of the National Cycle Network.
