03 – 06 October. The British leg of the FIA World Rally Championship takes place over four thrilling days at Llandudno's seafront as well as an additional saturday evening test set at Colwyn Bay's promenade - a real crowd pleaser!

Aberystwyth Comedy Festival
04-06 October. The Aberystwyth Comedy Festival is made up of around 40 individual shows which take place in venues near Aberystwyth's seafront. The full line up will be announced nearer the time, but last year's shows included Rhod Gilbert, Tudor Owen, Suzi Ruffell and Anna Mann.
Neath Food and Drink Festival
04 - 06 October. A celebration of local produce and Neath’s historic market town atmosphere. Lots going on for all the family including cookery demonstrations, children’s activities and live music.

Denbigh Plum Festival
05 October. The Denbigh Plum Festival is now in its eleventh year, but this will be the first festival since the fruit was granted Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status in February, under the European Union Protected Food Name (EUPFN) Scheme. It’s been a long road to achieving PDO status for the Vale of Clwyd Denbigh Plum – a technical process which takes several years to reach fruition. So, this year’s Festival will have a celebratory feel.

Cardiff Half Marathon
06 October. Competitors race right through Cardiff city centre past some iconic locations, with beautiful scenery and historic buildings, starting at Cardiff Castle, and passing the Millennium Stadium, Penarth Marina, before crossing the Cardiff Barrage and racing through Cardiff Bay before finishing close to Cardiff City Hall.

Newport Food Festival
05 October. The festival will showcase local produce and businesses with its free chef demonstrations and over 70 exhibitor stalls. There will be street theatre, live music and activities throughout the day for all the family.

Iris Prize Festival, Cardiff
18 - 20 October. This guerrilla music festival takes over just about every available venue in Cardiff, to showcase raw music talent in intimate spaces. It's loosely based on SXSW in Texas, and designed to unearth the next generation of performers.

Llangollen Food Festival
19 - 20 October. Held at the world-famous music venue that is The Llangollen Pavillion, this Food Festival has visitors singing its praises. A picturesque town on the banks of the River Dee, Llangollen is a magnet for tourists, drawn by the scenery, steam railway and cultural events including the International Eisteddfod.

Dippy on Tour
19 October - 26 January 2020. National Museum, Cardiff.
Never before on public display outside of the Natural History Museum, Dippy has delighted visitors since he arrived in London in 1905. The full skeleton in its displayed pose is an impressive 21.3 metres long, 4.3 metres wide and 4.17 metres high.

Cardiff International Film Festival
24 - 27 October. Held in the historic Pierhead building in Cardiff Bay, the Cardiff International Film Festival attracts entries from all over the world. The festival is open to the public, although some venues may charge an entrance fee.
Gwledd Conwy Feast
25 – 27 October. The medieval town of Conwy is transformed with a weekend festival that boasts the largest celebration of music, art and food of Wales. The quayside, castle and medieval streets burst with flavours, sound and sights.
