Children's Literature Festival

1 - 7 April. This year's event features over 40 ticketed events, FREE craft sessions and an extensive programme of school events running across iconic venues across the city centre. It's aimed predominantly at children ages 3-11, and continues to create lifelong readers whilst entertaining and enthusing them about reading. Events include writing workshops, book readings, craft activities, quizzes and games and the occasional appearance of a character or two!

The Laugharne Weekend

05 – 07 April. Like the town itself, this is a quirkily brilliant festival. Imagine being in the pub when all the coolest cult novelists, musicians, thinkers and controversialists turn up at the same time. This year's event features a line up including Tracey Thorn, Annie Nightingale, Robin Ince, John Cooper Clarke, Hollie McNish, Damo Suzuki, plus many more.

RHS Flower Show Cardiff

12 – 14 April. Come to Cardiff and take time to stop and smell the flowers at the RHS Flower Show Cardiff which brings the city centre to life this spring. See floral displays, features and Show Gardens demonstrating the best in RHS gardening practice.

Easter Monday Family Raceday

22 April. Join us at Chepstow Racecourse for our popular Easter Monday family raceday. Theres plenty of free entertainment on site to keep the whole family amused including live music from a fantastic Little Mix and Ariana Grande tribute, Panic Circus where your family can practice their circus skills, fairground rides, face painting, a fire engine, go-karts and more!

Chepstow Annual Walking Festival

24 – 28 April. Explore the wonderful countryside of Monmouthshire and the Wye Valley. The walks are graded so can be enjoyed by those who want a gentle stroll, all the way through to those experienced walkers who fancy a challenge.

RawFfest Youth Arts Festival, Cardiff

25 – 28 April. RawFfest is a youth arts festival for Wales planned and programmed by young people for young people. It showcases the best of youth arts today, valuing the original over the copy, the quirky over the conventional, the daring over the dull.

Judgement Day

27 April. Judgement Day VII is the 2019 incarnation of the annual ‘super day-out’ for Welsh rugby, which sees all four regions face-off in back-to-back Guinness PRO14 matches under one roof. Wales’ international heroes will collide in Cardiff as the Dragons face last year’s finalists the Scarlets in a 3pm kick-off, before Cardiff Blues host the Ospreys at 5.15pm. A highlight in the rugby calendar.
